Tender Prayer

I have had the opportunity to spend so much time with the Sosa kids lately. I love them to pieces! Tonight, we knelt down to pray before bedtime. Tanner wanted to say the prayer so badly. I'm so glad he offered the prayer because his prayer was so tender!
Here are some phrases from his prayer:
Please bless all the animals we have.
Please bless all the people.
Please bless that we will love all our animals and all our people.
And my favorite...... Heavenly Father, please bless that you will get all the presents that you want.
The cutest prayer ever.
I sure do love that boy!

A little less stressed..

Finals are coming up.
I've been studying tons and tons and tons.
I've been so stressed.

Today I was talking to my mom and she kept mentioning the mail.
She told me that Court had sent me a Christmas card.
She asked if I check my mail box a lot.
She told me to check my mail.
I was so confused as to why she kept bringing up my mail.
I let it be and went to check my mail box.
I first glanced in and there was no card for me.
I looked a little deeper and found a slip that said I had a package waiting for me.
I was so excited!!
I never get anything in the mail-let alone a package!
I sign for the package and notice it is from my parents.
No wonder she kept telling me to check my mail!
My parents are amazing.
They sent me a "Finals Week Survival Kit"
I love them dearly.
This package made my day.
I could not stop smiling-specially as I read the tender note that was in the package.
My mom sent all my favorite treats.
In the note she said: "We have taken out all the calories so you can eat until your heart is content and you don't even have to feel guilty."
I love them so much.
I am no longer as stressed to for my finals.
Thank you mom and dad!!! You're the best!!!

Inside the package:
Blow pop's
Reese's
York's
Chocolate Oreo's
Charleston Chew's
Granola bars
Fruit Roll-up's
Gushers
Fruit by the foot.

No one told me college would be this hard..

On Tuesday I got back from a wonderful Thanksgiving break. I loved the break.
I spent SO much time with my family.
I got to try Texas Roadhouse for the first time (an experience I hope to never re-live)
I saw You Again with my mom and sissy.
I saw Life as We Know It with some girl friends.
I ate at Wingers. (mmmmm!!)
I spent time with both the Sosa and Dayton kids and loved every moment of it.
Went shopping with my two sissy's and Cooper.
I attended a missionary farewell to a dear friend.
I made homemade oreo cookies. TWICE!
I made sugar cookies from scratch.
Had a cheer reunion.
And I spent some more time with my family.

I just need to say how much I love and appreciate my mom. This Thanksgiving I was able to spend so much time with my mom. When I left on Monday I was trying to be so strong. I was not going to cry. As I am about to get on the freeway my phone rings and it is my mom. I answer and all I hear is sniffling and "I love you." So much for being strong. Before I know it we're both sobbing. I cannot wait to see her again :)

Back to college.. this week has been so stressful! I cannot wait until this semester is over. My brain needs a serious break!! Finals are coming up. Here's to:
not leaving the apartment for a full week due to studying,
late nights with highlighters and textbooks,
and cram sessions.
I pray I make it through finals!

OMG TOUR

When I found out Usher was going on tour, I knew I had to go to his concert. We found out he was coming to Vegas and decided we were going. Cass, Mckell, Kirra, and I set off for Vegas Friday afternoon. We got to Vegas and headed out to Serendipity for some frozen goodies. I can honestly say the sundae I had was the BEST sundae I've ever tasted.
Saturday we set out for shopping. We started at Forever 21. That store is MASSIVE!! It is two floors and we spent two hours on the bottom floor then we spent an hour on the top floor (I didn't even go through all the sections). I did get anxiety a little because it is so overwhelming and there were way too many people in there, but I did score. I love everything I got.
After shopping for three hours, we were beat and had to go get ready for the best night of our lives.
The Usher concert was the best concert I have ever attended. I never wanted it to end. The openers, Miguel and Trey Songz were very good!! Usher is an amazing dancer, and performer.  He sounded so good live, and he sang for TWO HOURS. There were fireworks, dancing, and plenty of entertainment. He sang both his new and old songs which was so awesome!
Lets just say I am smitten with Usher.
When he danced, I was in awe.
When he ripped off his shirt.. I almost died.
I could go on and on about this concert, but lets just say it was the BEST concert I've ever been to.
Usher.. I LOVE YOU!!!

Isn't he sooo hot?

Hello sexy!!!! ;)

Festivities

School has been crazy lately. I am awful at tests so I have been studying so hard so that I do not fail my classes. But do not worry, I am making time for some fun in my life. Some of the fun things I have been up to are:
Paint dance.
Jazz game.
Thriller.
The Howl.
During homecoming week, we had a paint dance. It was freezing cold outside but so much fun. By the end of teh dance we were completely covered in paint!

Last week Meg, Macy, Mckell, and I headed down to Salt Lake to see Thriller. I must say, I was kind of disappointed. I was expecting a lot more from it but overall it was pretty good. I am still glad I went. When we came out of the performance it was snowing like crazy. Luckily, that did not last too long. I'm not quite ready for snow.

Also last week, we headed back down to Salt Lake on Thursday for the Jazz vs. Suns game. It was so much fun. Too bad we lost...

our binoculars because we were in the nose bleeds :)

Saturday night was The Howl. Meg, Macy, and I dressed up as zebras. There were SO many people there! I could not believe how many people were there. We danced, took pictures, and had lots of fun. After the dance we played some games, and stayed up way too late. Overall it was a fun Halloween!!

slumber party!!

Viva Las Vegas

This past weekend was our fall break. We knew we needed to go on a vacation and Vegas was the final pick. Tuesday night Mckell and I drove to Orem to start our fall break with a concert. We went to the Jason Derulo concert with Lexi. It was a blast! Jason Derulo is so good looking. B.O.B., Auburn, and Iyaz did awesome. The concert was so much fun.

Wednesday Megan, Macy, Mckell, Sam, and I packed up the car and hit the open road. We didn't leave until 5 so we got to Vegas around 10. We dropped Sam off at her boyfriends house, checked in, and headed to the strip for some food. Thursday we slept in, went to the pool (it was so hot) shopped and then I went to dinner with Mike. While I was at dinner Wade, Sam, and Daren drove from Logan and met up with Meg, Macy, and Mckell. After dinner I met up with them and we walked the strip then headed back to the hotel. We talked for ever, had "family" prayer and hit the hay. Friday, we checked out of our hotel then headed back to the pool. We then went to check in at the condo Mckell's mom was staying at. Then came a fun filled night. We started the night off with some frozen  goodies from Serendipity's, went shopping, and headed for Stratosphere. We did two rides on Stratosphere. The Big Shot and XScream. Big Shot was SO scary but so much fun. XScream was just scary. We ended the night with a nice dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. Saturday we woke up, packed up, got some frozen goodies (gelatto and frozen hot chocolate) and then hit the road. The drive home is definitely not as fun as the drive there. Overall the trip was a much needed break and so much fun!

The gang

Big Shot. Can you tell we were scared?

8 years..

8 years ago today I was involved in an accident.
I was riding on a mo-ped with my friend.
I had just picked her up from her piano lesson and we were on a nice ride.
We were going to visit Devin and Cody.
They got on their bikes and the race was on.
Kelsie needed something so I reached up around her to drive.
Kelsie's finger got pinched.
I let go and grabbed on to her waist.
Next thing I know I'm standing up not knowing where I was, what had happened, etc.
I was so confused.
Kelsie landed on her piano books.
I landed on the concrete.
My head hurt.
I started to cry.
We decided to go back to Kelsie's house.
She wanted to ride back on the scooter, but I wouldn't get back on.
We got back to her house and I called my mom.
Right when I hung up, I asked if I could call my mom.
I couldn't remember anything.
My mom picked me up and I told her what happened.
When we got home I started throwing up.
What I thought was minutes, but actually hours, went by of me throwing up.
I went to the insta-care.
The doctor started asking me questions.
I hesitated on an answer so that I wouldn't have to go to school the next day.
He said he thought I only had a concussion & I should be okay, but just to be safe, I should go get a cat-scan.
I got a cat-scan.
Next thing I know, we're in a room with a doctor and he is trying to tell me that I have a blood clot that is pushing against my brain. I need to have surgery. Tonight.
I was so scared.
My parents called all my family.
My uncle was on his way to be my anesthesiologist.
My uncle felt it best to call in another surgeon.
I was trying to be so brave.
I wanted to prove to my mom that I wouldn't cry.
I didn't cry when I got my iv.
My dad and uncle gave me a priesthood blessing.
The nurse told me they wouldn't only shave a tiny part of my head.
Next thing I know I'm wheeled into the operating room at 11 p.m.
My uncle was sitting next to me.
He gave me my medicine and told me to count to 10.
I was scared I wasn't going to fall asleep.
I don't really remember what came next.
My parents told me I came out of surgery at 1 a.m.
I remember people visiting me in the hospital.
I remember being so mad that the nurse lied. The doctors had parted my hair straight down the middle and shaved.
I remember the nurses checking on me once an hour every hour.
I remember going home.
I remember my dad shaving the other half of my hair off.
I remember getting my 27 staples out.
That hurt SOOOO bad.

I'm lucky to be alive.
The doctor said if I hadn't had the surgery that night, I would've gone into a coma and never would have woken up.
I'm so thankful to be alive.

Some adventures

A few weeks ago I was invited to go to Wyoming with Megan and her family. We spent the day horseback riding and taking in the beauty of nature. It was an amazing getaway. The scenery and ride was unforgettable. Nature is so beautiful and spending a whole day surrounded in it was awesome. I must say, after riding 8 miles on a horse I was pretty sore for a while.
Thank you to the Robisons for letting me come to Wyoming with them!

Then, I was lucky enough to go to Idaho with my family. Let me tell you, I was in need of family time. We went to Island Park and stayed at my aunt and uncle's cabin. We spent one day in Yellowstone, another riding four-wheelers all day and just spending time together. I loved the vacation and it went by WAY too fast.

how cute are my nephews?

Mac and me :)

I was in desperate need of a shower..

Mac a.k.a. king of the tree stump

Yesterday, we were off to Frightmares at Lagoon. I love Lagoon! It was so much fun. Some of the characters were pretty scary and the haunted houses were really scary ( keep in mind I get scared very easily.) Of  course the rides were my favorite part :)

** I have more pictures but my camera died, so they will come later :)
